I give 4 stars because the food is great, but the customer service is terrible. I have been going here at least 2 times a week the last 2 years, and EVERY SINGLE TIME they mess my order up, even tho i get the same thing every time. I usually have to door dash due to working, so i'm not able to check the food before i leave. it literally makes me so angry i'm paying for a service and a food that's half ass. I have to say something every single time, and it's gotten old. i'm leaving the review and will find another spot,
We ordered Doordash delivery on a Monday night. We had the regular burrito ($12.15) with added sour cream ($.65) and the steak taco salad ($13). Taco salad was very tasty. However, I wouldn't exactly call it a "salad". It had about as much lettuce as a Taco Bell crunchy taco. If you fancy a nice 7-layer dip in an edible fried shell, then this is the dish for you! It comes with rice, beans, meat, pico, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and guacamole. The shell was amazing and makes the perfect "chip" for your bowl of dip. The steak was finely diced (like smaller than a dime) and flavorful. Al pastor regular burrito with added sour cream was great. Comes with choice of meat, rice, beans, and cheese. It's grilled on the outside and has plenty of cheese. I imagine the Al Pastor is the best meat choice, because I simply can't comprehend the idea of anything tasting better! Their mini salsas were quite lovely, but use sparingly because you only get 2 per meal. Also, both made great leftovers the next day.
Last week, I was scrolling through the Chita's menu on Yelp while doing laundry nearby at Love. I could remember old school Yelpers raving about Chita's years ago, and the ratings were still high. Even better, their wet burrito with carne asada was several dollars cheaper than the one from my favorite taqueria in Folsom. Sold. I walked right over to Chita's to order a wet burrito with carne asada, to go, as well as a tamarind Jarritos. When I was paying, the woman behind the counter asked me if I wanted salsa cups. "Yes please!" I always want salsa cups. I didn't notice until after I had paid that chips were sold on the side for $1.50 extra. I should have ordered some, but didn't. My food didn't take very long to come out at all. I walked it back to my spot, and cut right into the middle. The first things I saw were carne asada, guacamole, rice, and pico de gallo-- and I saw a LOT of guacamole. Perfect. The burrito was (by definition) drenched in red sauce, so I wasn't really able to try any of the rest of the salsa with it. I still tried a little of the avocado sauce, and thought it was good, but a little watery. The ingredients on the inside of the burrito were all great. The carne asada and guacamole were top notch for a taqueria at this price point. I liked the red sauce that topped the burrito, but not as much as the sauce at my favorite taqueria chain. The portion size was a bit smaller, but I'm never able to finish the entire burrito at my favorite place, anyway. The customer service was great. The woman who helped me was very friendly. The inside of the shop was clean, but not sparkling. I would definitely love to come back to Chita's to try more of their menu items in the future.
Chita's was a casual, but delicious place to grab a bite of some decent Mexican food. We came upon this place based on the great Yelp reviews and I'm so glad we took a chance. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but very welcoming. Our server at the counter was so very nice and helped us with a smile on his face. It was a chilly night, so I ordered chicken tortilla soup and a bean and cheese burrito. My husband ordered a chicken quesadilla. The food came out less than 10 minutes which was great because we were starving. The tortilla soup was so good and hit the spot. It had the right amount of spice, chicken, corn, and beans. They were also very generous with the cheese topping. It also came with a side of chopped cilantro and red onions, which were a great accompaniment to the soup. I was so full from the soup because it was a very generous bowl so I only managed to take a couple of bites of my burrito, but it was delicious. The beans were so tasty and again, very generous with the cheese. The flour tortilla tasted homemade. My husband loved the chicken and cheese quesadilla and it too was very generous in size and came with a huge heaping of sour cream. I would definitely return to try some of their other dishes.
Oh my gosh! My boyfriend and I were in the area and thought mexican food was a good option for dinner. We thought that Chita's was a solid choice since it's rated 4 stars and was open late. There's a bar of sauces/condiments near the cashier. I always love it when restaurants allow self-service so that you can fill up on whatever you want. I was in the mood for a quesadilla and ordered the super version. I did not know they were going to come out with a giant plate, but it was such a pleasant surprise. The quesadilla was insanely cheesy and flavorful. We really enjoyed the tortilla but I loved the amount of sour cream that they give you on the side. This was easily one of the top quesadillas I've ever had. I'm salivating while thinking about it :'( It got super busy around 9PM, with a rush of people coming in and out to dine in or pick up their orders. I didn't realize how appreciated this hole in the wall spot was and I would definitely come back! :)
Serving all day to late night; a corner Mexican restaurant serving the quintessential comfort foods Food: Huevos rancheros - 5/5 - incredibly delicious; definitely a must try breakfast dish! Definitely my favorite! Chilaquiles - 4/5 - pretty good but not exceptional Sopes - 5/5 - probably one of the best in Sacramento that I've had; definitely a personal favorite of mine that makes me come back Tacos (Al pastor, carne asada, chorizo, carnitas) - 4/5 - loved the chorizo and carnitas decently more than the carne asada (cuts should be smaller and should have more charred taste) and Al pastor (lacks pineapple) Love how there is at least 4-5 salsas Enchiladas - 4.5/5 - pretty flavorful with a bright red sauce but only mildly spicy Super quesadilla - 4.5/5 - big serving portion;definitely worth a try Chicken tortilla soup - 4/5 - pretty good, quite loaded with tortilla chips, chicken chunks, corn, beans, avocado and cheese Aguas frescas - 5/5 - love how there's plentiful selection including tamarind, mango, melon, jamaica, pineapple, etc. Ambience: Small little corner restaurant with a few small tables Service: Fast and friendly
I've been coming to Chita's for years and I've always enjoyed the food here. You can't really go wrong with their option but recently I tried their Machaca Burrito with stake, bacon and chorizo which was delicious with their salsa. I also love that they have a self serve salsa bar. Many places don't have one anymore so I'm always happy to find a restaurant with great food and a self serve salsa bar. It just adds a little something to the experience and allows me to add however much I like to my dish. If you're a salsa lover, you know how satisfying that can be. The restaurant is smaller and can probably seat about 20 people but it's a tight fit. They have Mexican music and right now it's Christmas time so they have some lights and a small Christmas tree up. They play mexican music softly and the have a cool map of Mexico painted on the wall.
A-MAZING! This spot is serving some real authentic deliciousness. I don't like quesadillas unless they're homemade, but their chicken quesadilla was made with the utmost love. I just discovered this location while making a stop to my fav New Korean joint , Pocha house , and discovered the amazing ness that is Sacramento farm to fork Latinx flavors! I love it here The tacos are good but I personally love a good tripita taco. The feel of this spot is like being a local in the city and having that one good small shop that needs to stay forever ! Yum!
